It has been said that a good project starts with a good Plan.
The more details that you can nail down on the front end of a project, the less time & money it will cost for changes or oversight near the end of a project. We have all heard a builder or contractor say, "Yeah, it is a pretty picture, but you can't build it." A good plan is not simply putting lines to paper (or screen) and making a pretty picture. What makes a good set of building, working drawings is that it not only looks good and reads well, but that the important details are covered. That there are dimensions and sizes figured out and where they need to be. Not just the easy ones or none at all. A plan is the single biggest form of communication between owner and builder or contractor. It conveys not only the overall intent and look of a project, but the details and dimensions of how to construct a project to achieve the desired end result. The time & money spent upfront on developing a good plan is pennies compared to the wasted time of not having a project that works or is full of questions. I have seen home owners intent on what toilet or sink they are going to buy, only to have it not fit or be located wrong because they didn't want to put the time & money into a good working plan. Here at Earth Built, we have the experience, knowledge and software to develop a good set of working drawings for any size project you may be looking to complete. We look forward to working with you and developing a "Good Plan" for your next project. |
